Factory Floor - Untitled

Untitled is Factory Floor’s debut full length, released this year, on Blast First Petite with their new line-up: Dom Butler (electronics), Gabe Gurnsey (drums), Nik Colk (vocals/ guitar).

Expect repetitive reverb-diluted almost-spoken-word vocals over ice cold sequenced synthesizer patterns with colossal bursts of guitar noise scratched out with a violin bow and a precise build up of metronomic drum beats, both electronic and acoustic.

One of the most, if not, the most interesting band London has to offer at the moment.

Their record also includes a short impressionistic art film made by the group.

Polyphonic Size - Pragmatic Songs

The Belgian synth group Polyphonic Size formed in '79 and comprised of Rolling Stones fan, Roger-Marc Vande Voorde. From an early age he learnt to play the guitar and began to play in small local bands playing covers such as Get Back, Jumping Jack Flash, Walk On the Wild Side and Gloria...

Releasing only a handful of EP’s and a couple LP’s; the second EP, Pragmatic Songs, was written by both Roger-Marc and Régine K (a very strange girl, fond of S&M, and breeding snakes in her own flat...)

The experimental minimal-wave EP combines delicate, shimmering, relaxed, yet melodic pop with repetitive, hypnotic synthetic patterns.

Death in June - The Guilty Have No Pride

Death In June arose in June ‘80 from the ashes of classic '77 British punk band Crisis, however the newly formed Death In June were a much more obscure proposition.

Consisting of Douglas Pearce, Tony Wakeford, Patrick Leagas the group took inspiration from German history, adopting and incorporating WWII imagery in both music and artwork.

Expect rumbling militaristic drums, complimented by heavily delayed guitar work, over driving Joy Division-esq bass lines and an offset of harmonic vocals conveying the many political events of WWII.
